The New Year’s Coming – is your current CRM working for you?

Calendar 2015Now is the time of the year to step back and assess if your current CRM system is working. If it’s not working, embraced or supported, why not? Too complicated, too expensive, not user friendly or all the above? Be sure to ask yourself… how much of your current CRM system do you currently use – 1) prospect tracking, 2) customer relationships, 3) business ops and 4) marketing/social media. If you’re only in need of prospect and customer tracking, there’s no need to purchase more than you need. Take the time to look for a CRM system that fits your business. Customization should be another evaluation point. Some systems don’t allow you to modify the contents  – but they should.  It’s your business, and you have your way of managing it with your own nomenclature.

Applying the KISS principle to your choice of CRM tools is key. Overtly complex systems are time wasters vs. time savers / business builders.

A newer feature to consider is mobile access. Does the system you’re using or considering have a mobile component that allows you to view your client / prospect information from your smartphone or tablet?  In this day and age, this is a must.

If you’re in the market, look for a free trial of a CRM system for you and your team to “test drive”. The best way to know if a system is going to work is to try it in advance.

Best of luck preparing for 2015.  Opportunities await. Make sure you’re prepared to be as effective as you can in your prospecting and client management.
